Against Animal Testing
Brodie with Snowy the bunny

GAIA Skin Naturals are committed to providing high quality ingredients that are made without cruelty to animals.

We pride ourselves on having:
  • No animal testing

  • No animal ingredients or by-products in any of our products

In fact our product trials are done using real people and not bunnies or other animals.

All of our products are vegan friendly excluding one.

The only product that is not vegan friendly in our range is the GAIA Natural Baby Skin Soothing Lotion because it contains beeswax.

GAIA Skin Naturals are Choose Cruelty Free Accredited (CCF) ensuring you of our Commitment to respecting all forms of life.
choose cruelty free

Choose Cruelty Free

Choose Cruelty Free is a non-profit organisation that promotes cruelty-free living.

All CCF work is performed by volunteers who believe in a cruelty-free lifestyle.

CCF is designed to:

  • Encourage manufacturers and service providers to adopt a cruelty-free ethic

  • Brodie with Bunny Ears Survey companies which claim to sell products that not been tested on animals and do not contain cruelly-derived ingredients and accredits (without charging a fee) companies which satisfy the CCF's criteria
  •  Make available (by way of a licensing arrangement) an independent, consumer recognised logo which manufacturers can incorporate in their labeling and advertising material to readily identify their companies as cruelty-free.

Criteria for accreditation as a cruelty-free company is the most stringent in the world.

Ingredients GAIA uses that are often confused as animal derived

Allantoin - When GAIA states we use Allantoin, we mean the natural plant-based type derived from the active part of the comfrey root which is known to be beneficial in maintaining a healthy scalp. Other companies may use uric acid (known also as Allantoin) which is derived from animals.

Glycerin - Is a by-product of soap making. A natural 'humectant', meaning it attracts moisture to your skin, it also smoothes the skin's surface. The version GAIA uses is derived from vegetable oil not from animal fat.

Lactic Acid - GAIA uses Lactic Acid derived from plant sources not animal sources or animal by-products to moisturise as well as naturally to exfoliate, refine and clear skin. It helps to balance the skin's pH levels.
