GAIA Natural Baby was launched in 2002.

 

My little boy Joshua was born with very sensitive skin and developed eczema when he was just 8 weeks old.

 

I tried numerous skin care products and most of them made his eczema worse and I couldn't use them at all, in fact some made his skin blister and peel before my very eyes.

 

At the time my family lived on a certified organic produce farm (which was sold in 2006) and lead a natural lifestyle so when I was told that cortisone was my only option I thought I would source a safer and natural way so I consulted my herbal books.

 

I started to research which herbs and oils would benefit Josh's skin, did some skin care blending courses and studied aromatherapy. I began boiling my own herbal infusions on the stove and added them to his bath and made up my own potions for his skin.

 

My husband thought I had gone completely mad! But with some persistence and trials finally we found a way to soothe, clean and soften his skin without irritation. 

It amazes me that someone always knows someone who has a child with eczema or has one themselves and after hearing the same story over and over again "I can't find products that don't irritate, itch or dry my baby's skin" I developed our range of products.

The feedback we receive is just sensational, not only from parents thankful to have found GAIA but from the many midwives and health care professionals who also recommend our products.
